27/08/2015 painting inside continues, prep for bag n paint areas, doors painted, slats on facade painted

Moroka painting preparation was done today. not sure when they come back to actually paint. The painting inside is not yet finished. Painting has been going for about 7 days so far. Here are a lot of pics, this might be overload but it's good for our record of when things are done. The house looks quite dark in the photos, it is brighter in real life, however I thought a house with this many windows and doors would be super light, but it's not. But there aren't any lights yet so it's nothing that 100 downlights can't fix !

all the building rubbish has just been cleared again. Can't see from this shot but the front door has been painted white (Colorbond surfmist) and wooden slats on the façade are now painted.

21/08/2015 Watertank installed

 

wish we had pushed to get this placed around the side of the house. Not the nicest thing to look at in your backyard.

 

Here is the laundry with the worlds biggest linen cupboard (to the left but you cant see in this photo. All tiling is finished in the bathrooms and laundry. We will rip out the tub and fit out the laundry after handover if the pipes are in a position to do so.

 

Did a drive by on Saturday 21st to find a painter there and all ceilings have been painted one coat. Things are really moving now, this is all getting a bit scary ! but really exciting !

19/08/15-21/08/2015 Tiling

19/08- Met tiler on site and agreed the tiles were correct. over three days the tilers completed the bathrooms and laundry tiling. I will take some pics in the next few days if I can see through the glass. here is the en-suite in progress.

18/08/2015 Kitchen Installed

A lot has happened this week. The kitchen was installed at long last . Looking good! Glad we got the polyurethane, well worth it. drawers all seem really strong. much better quality than we were expecting. kitchen looks two different colours though it is one colour....not sure if that's the light .

vanities have been delivered but don't look as good, they are laminate.... should have paid the extra. will see how they look when installed.

Desks in the bedrooms were also installed.

Decision made on the floors at last... timber look tiles. found some beautiful timber floors but have been told I can't keep  mopping whenever I feel like it, or I will destroy them.... so tiles it must be. I can't live with a dirty floor......Took some samples out to the house...we like the darker one on the right... looks a lot darker inside the house, however there are no lights and it was very late afternoon. But I think it will be ok.

12/08/2015 Garage door and Internal doors

Garage door put on today. couldn't get a good pic as the guys had the door up and were working ..but you can see it at the top! Carpenters let me go inside when we were having a look through the fence. Internal doors are done. and skirting has been started. By then end of the day the door handle was also on. After a bit if umming and ahhing about the skirting issue....we told them to put them on and it started today. still unsure what flooring to put down, tiles or timber.....we probably made the wrong decision...but too late now... Internal doors are really high, higher than I imagined and looks great with the ceiling so high.

Gyprock completed by Saturday 8th. We moved out of our crappy rental house ....good riddance, that place was awful....last pic is our whole house in a box ...
